"Ugh! It's hot! How can you wear that thing? It's like 100 degrees!"

AJ fanned himself and stuck his tongue out, panting heavily like a dog would. I shook my head, smiling as I zipped up my sweatshirt.

"It's 60 out and perfect for a sweatshirt."

"What? It's boiling!"

"You are so over-dramatic." I laughed and stared down the road, my eyebrows furrowing.

"What time did they say they were picking us up?" AJ asked, mimicking me as I stared towards the corner.

"Talen said he'd be here around 5:00. It's 5:30 now."

"Of course, he'd be late," the blue-haired boy scoffed and crossed his arms, sticking out

I didn't want to be here anymore. I just felt like I should shrivel up and die; cease to exist. What was wrong with me? I hadn't left my room for days. Even my parents were beginning to worry, which meant that this was a pretty serious problem.

When was this torment going to end? I stared at my phone and just laid there, wrapped in my blanket, watching my blank screen that occasionally lit up and vibrated because of a concerned AJ. Every time AJ texted me though, it got my hopes up thinking it might be him. But I knew it was no use. He wasn't going to text me or call me. He didn't want me in his life an

"The carnival?"

"Yes!" AJ turned to me, smiling brightly. "It'll be a blast!"

"Well…" I rubbed my hands on my legs nervously beneath the table, looking away. "I don't know if I'll be able to get through my parents."

My blue-haired friend raised an eyebrow at me and crossed his arms.

"It never stopped you before."

"I- I know but…"

"I know what it is."

I suddenly became rigid all over.

"Y- You do?'

"Yep," AJ leaned forward, smiling slyly. "You're already going with someone, aren't you?"

My face burned red and I closed my eyes, exhaling slowly.

Even though I was frozen in place on the seat of the Ferris wheel, my mouth curved into a warm grin.

"You like me?" My voice quivered and I licked my lips, hoping to get a taste of Talen's Chap Stick from them.

"Yeah," Talen chuckled a bit, rubbing the back of his head. "I thought I was straight before I met you."

My eyes widened and I straightened up a bit.

"Seriously? I... I turned you?!"

Talen laughed and wrapped his arm around me as the Ferris wheel came to a stop part way to the ground.

"So where are we going?"

AJ gave me an odd look as we left the club and I shrugged, looking around for Talen. It had taken me twenty minutes to lure my blue-haired friend away from the girls and 10 extra minutes to persuade him into leaving the club. My patience was running out as we walked into the crisp, night air.

I zipped up my sweatshirt, as I thumped down the stairs, coming face to face with my mom at the last step. Her arms were crossed and her eyes were fixed on me with a stern glare.

I exhaled with aggravation as I recalled the occurrence that happened a few nights ago. I had lied to my mom about who I went out with and got home late, causing my parent's suspicions to rise and their trust to diminish like leaves in the wind. "Hey, Mom?"

My mother looked up from her book and raised her eyebrows at me expectantly as I rubbed the back of my head.

"Yes, Gage?"

"Do you mind if I go out tonight?"

"And where do you plan on going?"

"Over to Dan's."

"Oh, but of course! That Daniel is such a nice boy," My mother picked her book back up and smiled to herself. "If only you were more like him."

I frowned and ran upstairs to my bedroom to change. Before I stripped, I stared at myself in the floor-length mirror on my closet door. My black hair needed a trim to keep it from falling over my icy, blue eyes. My skin was white as a sheet

"What's going on?" AJ asked, an eyebrow rising in confusion. "Why are we going to Cain's? I thought you and Talen—"

"I want to get him back," I interrupted, putting my hands to my temples and rubbing slowly. "I realized how much he meant to me when I left him."

"What were you doing for the past two weeks that kept you from calling or texting me? You could have at least told me you were okay!"

"Nothing," I laughed dryly and stared at my hands. "Literally."

"You don't know how worried I was. I'm serious."

I glanced over at AJ, his blue hair was disheveled and dark bags were under his eyes, making

I hesitated a moment before turning and running back into the house. AJ was already trying to push his way between the quarreling brothers.

"Cain!" The blue-haired teen screamed, his fist tightening around the man's shirt. "You need to calm down!"

Cain ignored AJ, pushing him aside to swing his fist toward Talen's face. Cain's sibling dodged it and retaliated with a right hook of his own but instead of his brother, Talen's knuckles struck AJ's face, the dark-eyed boy staggering backwards and lifting his hands to his eye. He whimpered for a moment before shaking off the pain and re-centering himself be

Stopping a block away from my house, Talen put the car in park and stared out the windshield. I turned in the passenger's seat to stare at him one last time, his hazel eyes shifting to me as I smiled a bit.

"I don't want this night to end," I whispered, staring at my hands in my lap.

"Me neither," The black-haired man whispered, caressing my face in his hands. "But… I had a really good time. I'm glad you like me back."

Cancer is a BITCH!

Recently, I have found out that a fellow student in my school has terminal cancer.

His name is Blake.

I know him very little... we passed by in the halls and I've probably talked to him maybe once or twice.

But he's known well. Throughout the school and district. He's an amazing person and even more amazing for going through this and still with a SMILE on the kid's face. He's so strong and... he's inspired me so much.

But they don't give him much longer... at the most, they give him a little less than a week to live.

But I believe in a miracle, guys. If you could... please... keep Blake in your heart. Pray for him... do anything... we just need a miracle.

It'd be amazing to see him live through this.

He's really one of the most heartening and bravest people I've ever heard of.

Stay strong, Blake! :heart:

I'm crossing my fingers and praying to whatever higher power he gets well. A really close relative of mine has termianl cancer as well, so I know how much it sucks. :(

my neighbors daughter in law is in the hospital with cancer. she has a brain tumor and the doctor says he doesnt think she'll be getting out.......... i wish they'd find a cure for cancer already.

Bless his heart! I'm hoping for a healthy and bright future for him, and he shall be in my prayers! I hope that anyone with cancer has a swift recovery, because no one deserves this kind of pain.:iconluvluvplz:
