The whole family stared at Caleb in alarm, Alec furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.
Didn't he just tell me I was his first friend? He thought to himself. How does he get a girlfriend when he's so busy with fencing?
"Um," Caleb looked down, his cheeks burning with embarrassment. "Yeah, I met her through my parents. Her name's Haley."
Danni and Elaine glanced over at Alec, who was glaring at his plate, his fist clenched tightly around his napkin, his knuckles turning white. They noticed his eyes becoming glossy with the threat of tears. He quickly pushed himself away from the table and stood up, his hair falling into his eyes.
"Excuse me," He whispered, tossing the napkin onto the dinner table and stalking out of the room. Caleb's gaze followed the golden-haired teen through the doorway, his eyes spelling confusion. His head turned back to the table, his expression filled with perplexity.
"What just happened?" He asked, rubbing his head in puzzlement.
"D- Don't worry about it," Danni whispered, staring at her plate with solemnity and then looking up at her mom, her eyes pleading and glistening with tears.
"I- I'm so confused," Caleb stammered, pushing himself away from the table. "I'm going to talk to him."
He stood up and fled the room, mostly in an attempt to escape the bipolar family. Caleb climbed the spiral stairs, bending to his knees when he reached the closet door.
"Alec?" He questioned, knocking softly. "You in there?"
Alec stared at the ceiling as he lay on the floor, throwing his arms over his face and inhaling sharply through his nose.
"I'm busy," He snapped, agitatedly.
"You're such a liar," Caleb retaliated with just as much distress, trying to open the locked door. "Come on, open up! What's wrong with you? And why did you leave me alone with your family?!"
"Quit joking around," Alec hissed, throwing a random pillow at the door, making Caleb jump. "I'm not in the mood."
"Alec?" The boy asked, his voice sounding muffled through the wood. "W-was it something I said? I'm sorry if it was." Alec looked down, his gaze softening. He glanced hopefully at the door.
"I don't know if you'd understand," He said, sitting up and moving towards the entrance.
"Well, I'll try my best to if you just tell me what's wrong."
Alec wiped his eyes and hesitantly unlocked the door, pulling it open until chocolate-colored eyes met hazel.
He stopped Caleb before he could say anything more, by putting a finger to his lips. Alec inhaled slowly and moved his hand so it was gripping the brunette's chin. He pulled their faces together but before they could touch, Caleb shifted backwards, his eyes widening in realization.
"WhaWhat are you doing?!"
" Alec grimaced and grabbed Caleb by the shoulders, shoving him against the floor. Before the fencer could react, he pushed his lips against Caleb's, Alec's body leaning on top of the rigid brunette.
"S- Stop--" Caleb gasped, pulling his face away. Alec wrapped his hand around the boy's head and re-connected their lips, Caleb squirming underneath the looming body. The hazel-eyed boy's hand crept underneath Caleb's shirt, his fingers tracing the prominent contours of the brunette's abdomen, causing him to shiver and pull his face away from Alec's, small giggles escaping his throat.
"Stop!" He laughed, pushing at Alec's hand, his head arched back as the shorter boy stared at him in shock. "I'm ticklish," He squealed.
Alec suddenly pulled his hand out from under Caleb's shirt and pushed himself off the floor, trying to get onto his feet but stumbling backwards, running into the closet door.
"Oh my god," He whispered, putting a hand to his head in awareness. "I- I don't know what just came over me. I didn't mean to do that."
Caleb stared up at the ceiling, his hands gripping his shirt, tightly.
"What the monkey-flinging banana peels?" He breathed. Alec stared at him dumbfounded and then they both exploded with laughter, Alec's head flying backwards in amusement.
"W- What the hell?!" He guffawed, covering his face with his hands, trying to settle his lungs which were gasping for air. Caleb sat up and wiped his eyes of moisture, staring at Alec with hilarity.
"That is not what I expected you to say," Alec whispered, rubbing the back of his head nervously.
"W- Well," He looked away, blushing madly. "You tickled me."
"That's the only thing you noticed?"
"N- No. But
it still doesn't change anything, okay? I have a girlfriend."
"How? You just told me not even an hour ago how you're always so busy and that I was your first friend."
"Haley was introduced to me by my parents. It was more of an arranged relationship. She came onto me and we kind of hit it off. We
never mind. But we've been together ever since we met. We were never friends before."
"Oh," Alec looked down and then furrowed his eyebrows. "Wait, what did you mean by 'never mind?' What aren't you telling me?"
Caleb's face turned bright red and he averted his eyes.
"I- It's nothing," He whispered.
"Friends don't keep secrets from each other. Come on. Spill."
"Don't change the subject."
"Fine. I'll tell you. When we became official, Haley invited me over and
"Okay!" Alec interrupted, putting his hands up. "I understand. No details, please."
"Well, long story short, she was my first."
"But you barely knew her."
"Did I have to?"
"Yes!" Alec sounded hysterical. "You can't have sex with someone you just met. They're practically a stranger!"
"Well what were you just trying to do with me? You barely know me!"
Alec blushed massively and crossed his arms, glaring at the floor.
"That was different."
"No, it was pretty much the same thing except I was on a bed, and I didn't have a shirt on--"
"S- Shut up!"
"And she was wearing a lot more make up than you. Oh and--"
"I said I don't want the details!" Alec barked, uncomfortably squeezing his arms between his legs, his cheeks a deep crimson. Caleb stared at the shorter teen's arms hiding the only thing that could be reacting in that general area and a sly grin spread across his face.
"Man, it was crazy," Caleb laughed, staring at the ceiling. "I mean, she must've had some practice. I seriously don't know how she got my pants off that quickly. And I never found my left shoe after that. Yeah and I didn't even have to do much the whole time. She did all the work. Well
almost all of it. Except for the stuff that only a guy can do. Like, the thrusting and the"
"STOP!" Alec yelled, his eyebrows creasing up in panic as he squeezed his legs together.
"God damn it, Caleb, it's gonna take like, an hour for this thing to go down!"
Alec gripped Caleb's arm, tightly, burrowing his face in his sleeve.
"Dude," Caleb pushed him away and pointed towards the TV. "You're gonna miss the best part!"
"No!" Alec squealed, covering his face and turning his head away. "This movie is creepy!"
"It's not that bad," He sighed. "Just look! This is the part where the alien kills the kitty cat! Aw!"
Alec shook his head, stubbornly, not taking his hands away from his eyes. Without warning, a loud thud came from the window.
"HOLY FUCK!" Alec screamed, pushing himself off of Caleb and spinning over the side of the couch, landing on the floor, with his hands over his head and his face smashed into the carpet. "Don't kill me, don't kill me, don't kill me!"
"Chill out," Caleb snickered, looking over the couch at the terrified boy as the TV switched off. "It's just hail."
Just as he said that, Alec's dad walked into the living room, a flashlight in hand.
"Hey boys, the powers out," He muttered, walking over to the window and looking through the glass. "Damn, those things are the size of fists! Sorry to say Caleb, but it might be best if you stay here tonight. There are a lot of electrical lines down and fallen trees."
Caleb stared at Bryan, solemnly, sighing slowly.
"Alright, I guess it's for the best. I like it better here than at my house anyway. Thank you, Bryan."
Alec's dad smiled and nodded, walking out of the room.
Alec walked into the bedroom, glancing over at a shirtless Caleb. He rubbed at his borrowed pajama pants nervously, his ankles showing from the lack of the pants' length.
"I'm going to brush my teeth," He said, hesitating in the doorway as Alec nodded.
The golden-haired boy pulled out an extra mattress from underneath the bed, looking up when the foreign cellphone sitting on his nightstand buzzed, the bright light illuminating the dark bedroom. He glanced over his shoulder at the closed door and looked back over at the phone, picking it up, slowly. Flipping the phone open, he stared at the background, a picture of Caleb and a girl next to him, smiling formally, her hair a slick black, flowing down over her shoulders in soft waves, her eyes an extreme green. She was
gorgeous. Alec's stomach twisted with jealousy as the phone buzzed once again in his hand. He grimaced and opened the first text, noticing it was from Haley.
Hey, Caleb. Are you home? I thought I could stop by and we could
The second text she sent made Alec want to puke.
Caleb. Answer meee.. I'm in that mooood..
As the door opened, Alec quickly shut the phone and turned around.
"Uh," Alec whispered. "Haley texted you." He looked down as he tossed the phone to the brunette. Caleb sighed as he stared at his phone and closed it, discarding it onto the bed.
"She can be so annoying sometimes," He murmured, rubbing his head, sleepily.
"How many times have you guys done it?" Alec asked, putting a sheet over the mattress.
"I- I don't know, you really think I count those things?"
"So I'm guessing many," He muttered, bitterly, and straightened up. "Anyway, I'll take the mattress. You can have the bed."
Alec grabbed a blanket from the closet and walked back over to the mattress, collapsing onto it with a sigh of exhaustion.
"Good night, Alec," Caleb whispered from the bed, his voice sounding muffled from his face being smothered in the pillow.
"Night," Alec answered, slowly falling into a deep sleep.
Caleb pushed Alec onto his bed with aggressiveness, climbing onto him, seductively.
"Caleb?" Alec whispered, his eyes wide with shock.
"Shh," he smiled deviously and pulled his shirt off, his beautiful physique making Alec's face burn with lust. The brunette leaned forward and pushed his lips against Alec's, passionately entwining his tongue with the hazel-eyed boy's. Caleb broke the kiss and pulled up Alec's shirt. As the fabric passed his eyes, he was no longer looking into the dark irises of Caleb, but the electric green ones of who he assumed was Haley.
He froze as she licked her lips and ran a fake-nailed finger down his chest, over his heart. She brought her face down towards his and kissed him, passionately, the wax taste of her lipstick making Alec want to gag. Her hair tickled his shoulders, unpleasantly, and her breasts felt awkward against his skin.
"I want you, Alec," She whispered, breaking the kiss, her hand sliding down his abs and hovering over his pants' zipper.
"No," He said, in panic. "I don't want you."
As he struggled to get out of her grip, she pushed him back, violently, her eyes beginning to have an inhuman glow. He stared at her in terror as she smiled, her teeth sharp as knives and tongue like a snakes. Alec screamed in revulsion as she lunged forward.
The golden-haired teen's eyes fluttered open and tried to push himself up from the uncomfortable mattress, but something restricted his movement and he fell back. His heartbeat quickened as he thought the nightmare had come true but when he looked down at his stomach, he noticed Caleb was sprawled on top of him, his legs still stretched out on the bed.
"What in the"
He stared at him for a moment, Caleb's arms curled around his leg and just below his chest. Alec's cheeks flushed as he lifted his hand slowly, his finger trailing the outskirts of the brunette's soft lips. Caleb's head turned, nuzzling into Alec's hips and the boy blushed at the sensation of arousal he felt.
"God damn it," He hissed, quietly, his head falling back onto the pillow. "How am I going to explain this to him when he wakes up?"
